More Wide Open Doors

At every opportunity, I’ve been telling people that God is at work in Aurora, Colorado. I believe that because of all the open doors for effective ministry I’m finding.

Last week my new friend and partner in ministry in Original Aurora, Rich McLean set up a meeting with our brand new city council representative, Sally Mounier. We had a good meeting talking about the needs and opportunities in our stressed neighborhood – I felt like we will have a good and cooperative working relationship. At the end of our meeting, I asked her if I could pray for her… she said “yes” and we prayed right there in the coffee shop. She seemed to appreciate the fact that we initiated the meeting and that I prayed for her (but she is a politician, so who knows what she really thought). I got an email from her this morning asking if I’d come and open her very first public meeting with prayer. I smiled sensing another wide open door and said “yes”.

Over the past few years, I have been to quite a few city council representative meetings, but none where someone prayed (unless you count that one really boring one where I prayed that it would just be over). God is at work in Aurora, Colorado. God is weaving His way into the very fabric of our community and granting us favor and opportunities as we launch this ministry. It’s kind of fun to be on the front row watching (and occasionally participating) as God continues to transform the broken into something beautiful.

Keep on praying!
