The lights are on

The remodeling of the exterior of our building is finished! We are excited about how it looks and the value that it adds to our neighborhood. I especially like how the building looks at night. I love the symbolism of the lights proclaiming opportunities to experience all of God’s promises. As we work to be the feet, hands and voice of Jesus in Aurora, I remember that Jesus’ mission was described as “to give light to those who sit in darkness” (Luke 1:79). Every day we are reminded that we live in a dark world… what an awesome privilege (and weighty responsibility) it is to bring Light to those stumbling in the darkness.

While the exterior work is done and the lights are on, we have a ways to go to fully live out that promise of offering opportunities to our neighbors. The interior remodeling of our building is progressing… slowly. We are continuing to wonder through the process of getting all of our final building permits. But our chief concern is that even when we get all of our permits, we do not have all of the funds needed to complete the project. We can proceed in some areas, but we will not begin work that we don’t have the money in our hands to pay for.

Please pray for us. Pray that God will continue to provide for us finacially through His faithful servants. Pray that our neighbors will see the light and begin to experience all that God designed for them.
